This blog is the physical manifestation of my entrepreneurial spirit, which culminates in the enterprise known by the logo (below) and includes writing, coaching, teaching, speaking/lectures/presentations and consulting expertise.
I am writing a novel, in the speculative fiction (or is that social science fiction?) genre and taking courses on fiction writing, so will be publishing some of that here for review and commentary as you feel inspired to leave. (That Novel has begun to take shape – see Play for Keeps as has another, Amber Waves). I regularly write smaller pieces for “this and that” am a contributing writer on FutureDerm’s Beauty site and of course, write here.
UPDATE: I woke up in a sweat one night with the idea for a mystery series, so that is now underway too as the Smartt Mystery Series.
One of my great interests is in empowering girls and young women to see the beauty and extreme worth within them so they make better choices for themselves in life. That work is taking shape here in a project I affectionately call my “Aliens” project (you’ll see why if you visit the page).
I write (and speak/present) to communicate ideas, more than to entertain though I have been ‘accused’ of being very entertaining, on occasion. I hope that what you read here inspires you to think about something differently than you did before reading my work. I look forward to your comments (always welcome) and reactions to my writing. Years ago I had to use 2-T’s in the name ‘SmarttChick’ because the forum I was in already had someone using ‘SmartChick’. I was initially irritated, but I have come to appreciate it as quirky, unique and totally me! This logo is one I developed using only the Paint application, Power Point and a steady hand. (I kinda like it)
